Meet Our Dental Staff
Dr. Dan Alder
Dr. Alder did family dentistry for a period after graduating from Ohio State College of Dentistry and being discharged from the Air Force. After a 2 year residency in Orthodontics also at Ohio State, he established an orthodontic practice in Logan Ohio. Subsequent to that he began a practice in Athens, Ohio.
Dr. Alder and his family moved to a farm in Athens County in 1992 and have been happily raising children, horses, chickens, and dogs and cats ever since. We continue to feel that the orthodontic experience should be fun and exciting and strive to create that atmosphere.
My name is Debbie McWilliams and I am the office manager and financial coordinator. I have been employed with Dr. Alder since 2002. My positions allow me to work with the public and meet new and interesting people. It is a pleasure working in this ever growing orthodontist office. Reach me at: email@example.com.
My name is Penny Myers and I have been with Dr. Alder since 1969 serving in all aspects of orthodontic care. Currently I am the laboratory technician and have held this position since 1979. The laboratory provides the patients with an in-house convenience of quick and efficient treatment. I look forward to serving all the patients of Dr. Alder.
My name is Shelley Burns. I have been part of Dr. Alder’s team since 2002. I am now the friendly face you see when you enter the office of Dr. Alder. It is my pleasure to take care of your scheduling needs, either face to face or by telephone. I take pride in my position and always look forward to seeing the smiles of patients as they come and go. The beginning of your new smile starts with me in Dr. Alder’s office.
I am Jane Alder, Dr. Alder’s wife. Although I have a thorough understanding of the logic and rationale of the technical data, my strength is my ability to explain treatment plans in plain English. My background is in English and Journalism which enables me to translate the technical data into more basic, easier to understand terms.
I also am a mother and can easily understand the parent’s as well as the child patient’s perspective on orthodontic treatment. Each of my children has had braces so having a child in the house with orthodontic issues is not new to me. A large part of my job is to explain and demonstrate how each phase of treatment will look and feel.
I am also available anytime to clarify or answer early in treatment questions.
